Amy Martindale Kelly grew up in southern Wayne County. The daughter of John and Glenda Martindale, she grew up in the Grantham/Mar Mac area, attending school at Grantham School and Southern Wayne High School. She graduated in 1995 with a BA in elementary education from Elon College (now Elon University) with the Teaching Fellows Scholarship. Recently retired from 30 years of teaching in public school, she now is able to devote more time to Mount Carmel! Amy is a Graduate of Theology in Biblical Studies at Liberty University (2019) and has completed the requirements for ordination at Wesley Bible Seminary. She was ordained an elder in the Global Methodist Church on June 22, 2024 by Bishop Mark Webb.
Amy married her high school sweetheart, Kenny Kelly, in 1994 and they have two amazing children together, Ivy and Zac. Their daughter, Ivy, is married to Scott Davis. They have one amazing grandchild, Elijah James, born in February 2023. Their son, Zac, is a married to Alyssa. Amy and Kenny are blessed to have both of their kids and their families close by and worshiping with them.
Amy loves the Lord and His Holy Word. She believes in the inerrancy of scripture and promises to uphold God and His Word as authoritative and true. She came to Mount Carmel in January of 2023 and is beyond grateful that God led her to such an amazing church and welcoming church family!
